About Raven Gunsmithing
Raven Gunsmithing is a Veteran owned/operated business that is dedicated to serving Headland and the surrounding communities for their firearm needs. We are a Type 07 FFL that is capable of building custom AR rifles, sell new and used firearms, conduct FFL/private party transfers, firearm repair, and firearm customization. We are partnered with four distributors for special order firearms. The distributor list is located at the top of the page.
Our Certified gunsmith is capable of repairs, modification, and service of all types of firearms. We offer custom AR style builds to the customers specifications. We will get your input on how you want your rifle to be built and assemble it at a low cost to you.
Raven Gunsmithing offers a 10% discount to all Military and First Responders.
We accept cash, credit and debit cards.
Our Gunsmith, Troy, is an Army Veteran who served as a Military Police Officer. After 20 years of service and two tours to Iraq, he retired and started working as an automotive technician. He attended SAM 31 (Small Arms Repair) while serving in the Army, this is when his love of firearms began. After retiring he received an Associates of Science in Firearms Technology from Sonoran Desert Institute. This began his current journey starting Raven Gunsmithing. Troy has just recently completed a handgun certificate program from Sonoran Desert Institute to further his knowledge of revolvers, striker fired, and hammered fired pistols.
Gunsmithing
We offer multiple services for your current and future firearms. Everything from basic cleaning to modification, or repairs Raven Gunsmithing will get the job done in a timely and professional manner. We work on pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
Custom AR builds
If you are in the market for an AR and don’t see the one you want on a big box store website, then contact Raven Gunsmithing to build you a custom AR. We are partnered with several reputable manufacturers of AR parts and can build whatever you want. We will work directly with you to understand what components you want in your custom AR rifle or pistol.
So, when you are ready to get that custom rifle or pistol built, contact us at Raven Gunsmithing. The process will take approximately one hour and you can decide what parts you would like in your custom AR. There will be a $100 fee that will be added for the final assembly of the firearm.
Sales
We are partnered with a multiple distributors that stock all popular firearms and accessories. We do not keep physical inventory at this time, but we are able to special order a firearm or accessory.
When the firearm has arrived, you will be contacted. Once you arrive, you will have to show a valid form of ID and fill out a Form 4473, and a background check will be conducted. Once the paperwork and background check are complete, a $20 transfer fee will be applied to the cost of the firearm along with tax. We will only transfer to Alabama State residents with the exception of Active Duty Military with a copy of PCS orders.

FFL Transfers
Raven Gunsmithing is a active Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) located in Headland Alabama. We can assist with out of area firearm purchases that require a local FFL.
We can also help with personal firearm sales. If you want to sell your firearm to a local person and do not feel comfortable selling to a stranger, we can complete the proper paperwork and background check to ensure they are not a prohibited person.
If you purchase a firearm online or out of state, the seller will require you to provide an FFL in your state to facilitate the transfer, Raven Gunsmithing can be your local FFL to conduct your transfers. Inform them you want to use Raven Gunsmithing as your FFL have them contact us and we will provide them with the proper information. We can not transfer NFA items at this time. Transfer fees will apply ($20) and no discounts on fee.
Raven Gunsmithing will not transfer a firearm to any person that cannot provide a valid Alabama ID or under the age of 21, for rifles and shotguns 18.
